Pergola with octagonal decking

The client brief was to produce a design for a neglected corner of their rear garden. The area was not being used despite being the only sunny spot in the garden.

We decided to create a secluded seating area with a Pergola and a series of overhead beams to create a covered walkway to the Childrens Play area.

The octagonal deck has retaining walls made from new Pine Sleepers which also provide additional seating.

Bark Chippings provide a safe surface for the children to play.

The planting scheme consists of Perennials and Ornamental Grasses. Stipa and Miscanthus give height while Festuca and Japanese Blood Grass provide contrasting colour.
