A formal town garden in Highgate N6

This is a shady walled garden,  part of a large property in Highgate, North London.

The brief from the clients was to restore some formality to the garden and to provide planting that would look good in the early Spring and late Summer.

Our solution was to set out sixty linear metres of low box hedging to introduce some structure into the design of the borders.

On the terrace large terracotta pots were planted with topiary specimens of holly,bay and spiral conifers.

A shaded area was planted up with low growing evergreen ferns,grasses and Japanese maples.
